We've Been Fans Since the Dark Ages

At The Bison Helmet, we’re not bandwagon fans. We’ve been here since the dark ages.

Indiana football has always been a family affair. My brother played for the Hoosiers, and our family has been all-in ever since. Through the ups, mostly the downs, and everything in between, we never stopped showing up.

The Hoosiers Bring Back the Bison

One thing always bothered me though: we didn’t really have a mascot. And mascots, the pageantry, the absurdity, the identity, that’s part of what makes college football the best sport on earth. So when the Bison made its return, I was all the way in.

I Thought I Could Do Better

At the Wisconsin game this year, I saw a few fans wearing cotton, plush bison hats. They were fun… but kind of silly. I remember thinking, I can do better than that.

And after numerous hours of trial and error, The Bison Helmet was born. It's a handcrafted Bison helmet like no other one in the stands.

I started wearing it to games and the reaction was instant. Jumbo-tron appearances. Photos in the newspaper. Constant photo requests. Fans stopping me asking where they could get one. When I told them each helmet was handmade, jaws hit the floor, and the same thing kept coming up: “You should sell these.”

From One Helmet to a Movement

So after making helmets for friends and family, I decided to start spreading the Hoosier Bison love.

The dream? One day, Memorial Stadium is packed wall-to-wall with fans rocking The Bison Helmet. It's the Hoosiers’ version of the Cheesehead.

Go Hoosiers!
